The Divisions of Hematology and of Medical Oncology offer a flexible 2-4 year training program in both hematology and oncology leading to eligibility for board certification in either subspecialty or both.
The training of all Fellows combines clinical responsibility with research experience. The Program has an average of eighteen fellows in different stages of training and provides clinical and laboratory training in hematology, medical oncology, bone marrow transplantation, coagulation and blood banking.
Approximately seven fellowships are available each year to physicians who have completed three years of training in Internal Medicine and who are eligible for licensure in
North Carolina
. Duke offers stipends and benefits competitive with similar institutions.
